LAYING/PULL-IN SYSTEM OF FLEXIBLE PIPES.
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
The Flexible Pipes lay system should have dynamic load capacity of operation between 120t to 550t.
For capacity of dynamic load of operation of the lay system between 120 t (inclusive) and 200 t, tensioners should have clamping power of up to 100 t/m/caterpillar (4 caterpillar with profile shoes of 160º);
The average lay/recovery speed of Flexible Pipes or control umbilical, per project, shall be higher than or equal to 250 m/h.
Lay/pull in /storage equipment of Flexible Pipes, including winches A/R, should have individual speed of at least 500 m/h.
VERTICAL TENSIONER SYSTEM.
In case of using vertical tensioners, the following items should apply:
Free height between the lower edge of the tensioner or centralizer (if any) and the work table should be of at least 6 m.
There should be load transfer condition between the storage area and the work table considering the size and loads of specified Plet and MCV.
The work table area should have cargo handling facilities to provide proper positioning and assembly of the equipment, consisting of winches, 2 monorails with electric or pneumatic hoists and pad eyes.
There should be a working area for pull in/out operations with other units, and facilities to transfer cables between the units.
The passage of connectors through tensioners shall be carried out by using winches A/R or another winch solely for this operation.
The assembly arrangement of tensioners should allow the operation of the working table in the area immediately below the same, so as to enable the connection of Flexible Pipes, assembly of vertical connection modules, PLETS, IN LINE “T” and other accessories on Flexible Pipes.
HORIZONTAL TENSIONER SYSTEM.
In case of using horizontal tensioners, the following items should apply:
Lay system of Flexible Pipes consisting of pulleys and horizontal linear tensioners, to lay single pipes, with the following characteristics:
There should be a device (for example: monorail) for the horizontal tensioner system in order to help in connecting/disconnecting the connectors, and to pass them through the tensioners.
The lay/pull in pulley of Flexible Pipes (Flexible Pipes, electric-hydraulic umbilicals) should have minimum bending radius of 3300 mm (measured from the internal part of the pulley groove). The groove angle of the pulley should be 100 degrees.
The pulley should have side or auxiliary grooves, on each edge, to pass the wire ropes with their corresponding sockets to help in overboarding operations and the principal groove should have “V” form.
There should be, on the sides of the lay pulley, ramps with bending radius equal to those of the pulley. The structural resistance of the ramps should match the lay/pull in procedures.
There should be winches to help in the lay system operations.
The pulley, tensioners and winches should be placed to provide a free area for the performance of the operations required in the agreements.
Inboarding/outboarding operations of the connectors of Flexible Pipes should be carried out preferably using the A-frame, and the opening / closing of the connections should be made with connectors supported on the clamp of the working table.
The pulley assembly arrangement should allow the operation of the working table in the area immediately below the same, so as to enable the connection of Flexible Pipes, assembly of vertical connection modules, PLETS, IN LINE “T” and other accessories on Flexible Pipes.
LAYING CONDITIONS:
Surface flow: up to 2,50 Knots;
SWELL : up to 4,0 m;
ROLL : up to 8 degrees.
