Over the years since start-up, Quipbrokers have performed many Surplus Management and Asset Recovery Projects on behalf of our clients.

We have also sourced and supplied a lot of equipment and material as per our customers requirements. Our customer have some times saved a lot of money by using second-hand equipment, and this may have helped them meeting a tight project schedule. We are proud to say that on some occasions we have helped our customers getting their drilling platform back in working status from zero day rate within short time by sourcing and delivering refurbished second-hand equipment.

Quipbrokers sourced and sold a 1600kW MTU 12V4000 engine to a major international drilling contractor for use onboard their Ultra Deepwater Drillship. Supply of this low hour engine saved our client from potentially many months of downtime on their vessel.

Quipbrokers delivered 4 each 180 bar W.P. Woma Water Injection Triplex Pumps to an oil & gas service company in Thailand. The pumps will be refurbished, furnished with engines and be added to their rental pumps fleet.

Quipbrokers delivered a used Maritime Hydraulics Manipulator Arm (Racking Arm) to a major North-sea drilling contractor. The racking arm was refurbished and installed with short lead time and cost savings on their semi-submersible rig.

Quipbrokers delivered refurbished equipment for a complete 1000 ton capacity slip winch system for a ship breaking yard. The winch system comprises 1000 ton blocks, traction winch system, 25 T SWL utility winches (picture) and common Hydraulic Power Units. The slip winch system will be used for pulling scrap vessels of up to 5000 Te deadweight to the slip for environmentally safe demolition.

Quipbrokers performed marketing and sold 10 each 2400 kW unused surplus Daihatsu marine generator sets on behalf of a ship owner client. These generator sets will be used to build a new 24 MW electric power plant in the Caribbean. This is a good example on that utilizing surplus equipment can make development projects with limited budget feasible.

Problem: Shut down on Production platform in Indonesia, caused by leaking Flexible Riser Hose. Solution: Customer located new surplus Flexible Riser 6" x 5000 psi x 220 m in www.quipbase.com. Hose w/Reel 6 m. dia. x 3 m. wide x 30 T., shipped from Bergen to Batam by Antonov AN-124 Aircraft.

Quipbrokers have sourced several Master Bushings and Adaptor Bushings for Rotary Tables for offshore rig clients in the North-Sea. Delivery from stock or short delivery time is our speciality.

Quipbrokers, on behalf of client BP Exploration and Production, sourced subsea equipment for the Macando Spill Response Team. These parts were vital for the final and successful killing of the well after nearly 3 months of blowout.

Quipbrokers, on behalf of client Aker Stord, Norway, performed the marketing and sale of 1100 Tonn used line pipe that was removed from the seabed at the Frigg Field. The sale was based on an Invitation to Tender to international pipe traders and stockists based on "sealed bid" procedure. The complete lot was sold to a U.K. based company to a price beyond our clients expectations.

Quipbrokers, on behalf of Norwegian client sourced 5 each new surplus 6" FB 300# RF Ball Valves w/Gear. Our client saved both on cost but more importantly on delivery time, so they could meet their tight project schedule. Quipbrokers, on behalf of client Aker Offshore Partner Norway, continued with marketing and sale of all equipment dismantled from the Frigg Field DP2 Platform. Quipbrokers, on behalf of client Dolphin Drilling Norway, performed the marketing and sale of all equipment dismantled from the Semi- submersible platform Bredford Dolphin after a major upgrade project performed in Poland. Among the larger items we disposed, we sold a Seatrax Model 6020 Offshore Pedestal Crane to a customer in South-east Asia.

Quipbrokers' equipment sourcing service made a delivery of a 650 ton Hydralift top drive and two drillers cabins to Neptune Marine Oil & Gas, Singapore.

Quipbrokers' equipment sourcing service made a delivery of two double 80,000 lbs Shaffer Riser Tensioners to Odfjell Drilling Norway January 2005. Short delivery time was required and both 22 T tensioner assemblies were air freighted from Houston to Aberdeen U.K. for refurbishment and recertification by DNV. Refurbished Air pressure vessels were also delivered for the same project.

2003-2004

Quipbrokers on behalf of client ConocoPhillips Norway, performed a reuse feasibility stud and managed the sale of the Ekofisk platform elevating (jack-up) equipment. This included 97 each 700 tonne cylinders and 18 each 180 tonne cylinders plus the supporting equipment of HPU' s etc. The total weight of equipment disposed was about 3500 Tonn.

2003

Quipbrokers' equipment sourcing service made a successful delivery of a Marine Aluminium Telescopic Gangway to Odfjell Drilling Norway autumn 2003. The gangway was refurbished on the ship during transit from U.S.A. to Norway, and it was installed on the Deepsea Trym immediately after arrival at CCB offshore base. The rig then went direct to service at the Ekofisk Field.

Quipbrokers, on behalf of client Aker Offshore Partner Norway, performed the marketing and sale of all equipment dismantled from the U.K. sector Maureen Platform, as well as removal project surplus equipment. The project is now successfully terminated.

2000-2002

Quipbrokers, on behalf of client Statoil ASA Norway, performed the marketing and sale of the 1994 made Troll “A” Modular Drilling Rig (weight approx. 2300 MT). Modules and Equipment from the rig were reused in various rig projects in West Africa, Caspian Sea, North-sea and Europe Land Drilling. The project is now successfully terminated.
