The objective of the horizontal skidding system is to provide safe and efficient deck transportation of sub-sea equipment modules to and from the Moonpool, where a vertical lifting system takes over the modules, and provides vertical transport to and from the seabed.
The horizontal skidding system is designed for rough operation in a marine environment, and is composed of the following systems:
