150 Ton in-line Passive & Active Heave Compensators
This is a tool for safe launch and recovering of subsea modules. The tool is a linear, cylinder based design, utilizing a cylinder to compensate for vertical vessel movements (heave) within specifications. The system is designed for full active heave compensation by hydraulic power from the dedicated HPU (active energy) as well as an accumulated source of energy (nitrogen gas, utilized as passive energy).
The system is designed to operate in three principal operational modes:
• Manual operation, for service purposes.
• Shock Absorber Mode
• Active Heave Compensation (AHC) Mode
